I’m having an art opening December 5th from 6-9pm for my solo exhibit “Fashion as Art” at Galla Cabana in Santa Cruz.  Galla Cabana is located in the heart of Pacific Avenue and sells high end fashion from several of the designers I have covered in New York.  I’ll be projecting two videos, and showing 14 large scale paintings, and some small framed illustrations as well.  The opening party should be fun - Galla Cabana is serving wine and inviting their customers who hopefully will like art as much as fashion.  I think the projected videos will make it lively and the cut will include the runway shots that inspired the paintings so people can visualize my process - shooting the actual gown as it comes out and then watching the video for an interesting freeze frame and then using the brush to re-create the moment, the sensation of beauty in movement and excitement of glamour.  I’m thinking of projecting one on the back wall and then another on the ceiling or floor to make it interesting.  Galla Cabana has been getting into the local fashion scene - they recently staged a fashion show at Clouds currently covered in 831 magazine.  More shows are in the works too.  Galla Cabana is located at 1364 Pacific Avenue.  I hope people come!
